Kansas City, Kans. - The University of Minnesota soccer team is gaining national recognition heading into the 2009 season. The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has tabbed the Golden Gophers at No. 19 in their preseason poll.

A pair of former University of Minnesota Softball players recently landed coaching jobs at NCAA Division I institutions.
